Care of your Ceramics

Care of your Ceramics: FAQ

I use Australian stoneware clay fired to a very high temperature, making the ceramics strong and durable. Glazes are non-toxic and food-safe.

All of my pieces are hand built & one of a kind, you will find variations, irregularities and marks left by this handmade process. This is what makes the piece unique, individual and gives character.

Due to the slight temperature variations that can occur during the firing process or the position of the piece in the kiln, glazes colours as well as the clay itself may vary between pieces.

The boring but important stuff...

Although dishwasher safe I recommend hand-washing larger pieces. Smaller dishes are fine in the microwave and dishwasher. If using in the oven avoid sudden temperature changes (oven to cold bench-top) as thermal shock can cause cracking on your precious piece.

The unglazed surfaces of the pieces are finished with non-toxic Liquid Quartz which helps prevent staining from foods but avoid prolonged contact with acidic foods.

To prevent glaze scratches I recommend storing your ceramics with a soft cloth between each piece.

With a little TLC, your tableware will become a treasured member of your family for years to come.
